PUGLIA / IL GIARDINO GRANDE
Set in the countryside of Parabita in the heart of Salento, Il Giardino Grande is a restored 19th-century Casino and historic Dimora. Following a meticulous four-year restoration, it reopened in July 2022, seamlessly blending rich historical roots with refined contemporary design. Spanning over 30,000 square meters of lush ornamental gardens and ancient olive trees, it operates as an intimate and exclusive estate crafted for destination celebrations.
What immediately sets Il Giardino Grande apart from a wedding photographer’s perspective is its multi-zone layout and rich variety of distinct outdoor spaces. Your wedding day flows naturally across distinct environments without ever repeating a backdrop: exchange vows in the shaded Amphitheatre surrounded by ornamental gardens, enjoy an aperitivi or dessert display in the fragrant Agrumeto, sit down for an outdoor dinner under festoon lights in the Olive Tree Courtyard, and host late-night dancing by the sleek 1,000 sqm Mediterranean pool area.
I love that Il Giardino Grande sits right near Parabita in the heart of Salento. It offers countryside tranquility surrounded by olive groves and gardens while keeping your guests just a short drive from iconic coastal spots and historic towns. Located only 15 minutes from Gallipoli and its sandy beaches, 20 minutes from Santa Maria di Leuca, and 40 minutes from Lecce, it gives you the feel of an isolated Italian retreat with zero logistical headaches for pre-wedding welcome dinners or seaside recovery days. Unlike many venues with early outdoor noise restrictions, Il Giardino Grande allows you to carry party energy out to the sleek 1,000 sqm Mediterranean pool area with an open bar until 2:00 AM. Combined with on-site wellness facilities, including a panoramic gym, massage space, and poolside Pergola Ba, it seamlessly transitions from an elegant dinner venue into a private resort for multi-day celebrations.
The estate's 4-year restoration created a striking aesthetic harmony. Soft, sun-washed tufo stone, star-vaulted ceilings, and vintage furniture meet clean contemporary design and modern bathtubs. For photography, this provides clean lines, incredible natural light reflections, and zero visual clutter.
With over 30,000 square meters of ornamental gardens, citrus groves (Agrumeto), and courtyards, your day continuously evolves without repeating backdrops. Moving guests from symbolic vows in the stone Amphitheatre to aperitivi in the Agrumeto, imperial dining in the Olive Tree Courtyard, and cake cutting by the pool keeps energy high and creates a diverse, editorial photo gallery.
Ultimately, Il Giardino Grande offers an exceptional balance of authentic 19th-century Salento heritage, refined minimal design, and exclusive private estate luxury. Its flexible multi-zone garden layout keeps your wedding day moving effortlessly from romantic garden vows to a late-night poolside party, while its 3-night minimum buyout structure transforms your wedding into an intimate, multi-day Italian retreat for you and your closest guests. Ideal for celebrations up to 120 guests seeking privacy, style, and authentic Southern Italian charm.
